Foundation’s Further Contribution to Villages Ailing Hall Stephen, May 31, 2011December 15, 2016 The Peasmarsh Memorial Hall Committee received a welcome boost recently to its restoration appeal by way of a further £500 donation from the Jempson Foundation. The Memorial Hall has served the village for 85 years & is deteriorating almost to the point of becoming unusable. Stephen Jempson said ‘I regularly pass the Hall & see the Fundraising Target located outside & a decision was made by the Foundation Trustees to extend our support to the restoration of this needed local facility’. Andrew Jempson added ‘Our association with this hall stems back to our childhood, it gives us real pleasure to be able to offer a financial contribution to its restoration’. Hilary Pankhurst Secretary to the Peasmarsh Memorial Hall Committee said ‘On behalf of the Peasmarsh Memorial Hall Committee I would like to thank the Jempson Foundation for its ongoing support of the Peasmarsh Memorial Hall project’. She continued ‘The Memorial Hall is one of the few surviving village halls of its style and we are very keen to retain its original features whilst updating it to be fit for purpose for the community of Peasmarsh in the 21st Century’.
