Donation for Peasmarsh Memorial Hall Stephen, February 28, 2011January 30, 2016 The Foundation has made a £500 donation to the Peasmarsh Memorial Hall Committee to help with the refurbishment of the villages’ hall. The Memorial Hall has served Peasmarsh for 85 years and is deteriorating almost to the point of becoming unusable. Stephen Jempson said ‘This village hall is a central part of our community life; its deterioration has resulted in a reduction in community activity, support for the refurbishment of this facility is greater than ever. We have a close affinity and association with this hall and it gives us great pleasure to be able to offer a financial contribution to its restoration’. Andrew Jempson added ‘Stephen and I have lived in the village for many years and enjoyed using the facilities from a young age, at school, special events and exhibitions. We wholeheartedly support the renovation of this building to retain and improve the facilities for future generations’. Hilary Pankhurst Secretary to the Peasmarsh Memorial Hall Committee said ‘We would like to thank the Jempson Foundation for their very generous donation which will go towards the refurbishment of the 1914-18 Memorial Hall and is a great boost to our fundraising efforts’ she continued ‘We appreciate Jempson’s ongoing support in the local community of which we are this time the delighted beneficiaries’.
